Unusual nozzle test was printed

  • There are 7 kinds of "Unusual nozzle tests" like below ex.a-g

[a] Unstable nozzle out
The missing nozzles change position after cleaning.
This error is caused by air bubbles in the ink line or head nozzle area. The trapped air must be removed from the ink path.

[b] Stable Nozzle out
The missing nozzles fire in the same position all the time.
*This error is caused by poor air quality in the print environment or by inadequate printer maintenance. The caps, table surface, and head must be cleaned regularly.
(Lint, dust, Ink mist, or cured ink by UV reflection can be one of the cause.)

*If the head gap is larger than 2.0mm on materials, especially on reflective materials (like a mirror or shiny material) the nozzles can clog. Excessive head gap can cause ink mist to cure on the head surface.

[c] Multiple Missing Nozzles
Many adjacent nozzles out at the same time.
This error may be caused by a poor air seal.

[d] Mixed Color(1)
Base color has another color on the nozzle test. If the mixed color is deep (Like Cyan nozzle test has Magenta color on it, and the Magenta looks like normal magenta density), it might be caused by Magenta ink mists or ink drops is attached on the Cyan head surface.

[e] Mixed Color(2)
If the mixed color is light or mixed with the next color,(Like the Cyan nozzle test has mixed color(Cyan+Magenta) on it), it might be caused by wiper or cap station is dirty by mixed ink.

[f] Nozzles deflection(1)
Nozzles are deflected from correct position to Right-Left-Up-Down.
*But the each nozzles are straight.
It might be caused by something on the nozzle surface.
(Lint, dust, Ink mist, or cured ink by UV reflection might be the cause of this issue)

*This error is caused by poor air quality in the print environment or by inadequate printer maintenance. The caps, table surface, and heads must be cleaned regularly.
*If the head gap is larger than 2.0mm on materials, especially on reflective materials (like a mirror or shiny material) the nozzles can clog. Excessive head gap can cause ink mist to cure on the head surface.

[g] Nozzles deflection(2)
Compare to "Nozzle deflection 1", nozzles are more badly deflected. (like more "Curly", "Dot line", "Half fired", or "Widely leaned" nozzles.)
It might be caused by something inside of Inkjet Nozzle.
(Lint, dust, Ink mist, or cured ink by UV reflection might be the cause of this issue.)

[Procedure]
1
Please check if the ink remains inside the cartridge or not.
Sometimes display shows there is enough remaining ink, but the actual ink cartridge is empty or very low. So please check the actual ink cartridge follow by below.

•220cc cartridge : Hold the cartridge and shake little bit to feel ink flow inside.
•600cc cartridge : Measure the actual cartridge weight.

2
Hard Cleaning x1.

3
Move the head carriage from cap-station by [Station]-[Station maintenance], and make sure if there is no ink pool in cap. Inside cap has to be empty (No ink), so if there is ink pool, please let service know about it.

4
If wiper bottle is full of waste ink, please empty the bottle.

5
Clean around the wiper and cap station as indicated in the Daily maintenance manual.

6
Operate another Hard cleaning x1.
